How to tell the rarity of weiss-schwarz cards? ›

The Rarity of a card can be seen on the bottom left of a card, next to the card number. There are also some set specific rarities, such as JJR for Jojo. These generally come with some golden stamp.

There are 3 main type of cards in Weiß Schwarz: character cards, event cards, and climax cards. They are further broken down into colors and level subcategories.

Winning and Losing Conditions

The player that forces their opponent to Level 4 wins the game immediately. The player that runs out of cards in both their deck and Waiting Room at the same time loses the game immediately.

The rarity of a card is indicated by the color of the set symbol on the card. Cards that are Rare or Mythic Rare tend to be more powerful or have more sophisticated abilities than the more common cards, though this is not necessarily the case.

The border, image, Level/Rank, and Attribute of these cards has a rainbow-colored pattern along with a Secret Rare-style name. Collector's Rare cards also have a slightly raised texture with an engraved appearance, similar to an Ultimate Rare.

Rare cards have a black star. Rare Holo cards have a black star and a “shiny” (foil) illustration. In many English sets, for every rare holo card there is another card at a lower rarity that is identical in terms of gameplay, but has a different collector card number.

Secret Rare is the highest category of Pokémon card rarity, and Secret Rare cards differ in several ways from lower-rarity cards. First, they have a collector card number that's higher than the advertised set number — hence the "secret" in their name.

Rarity refers to the distribution of cards in Magic boosters. Magic has common (C), uncommon (U), rare (R) and mythic rare (M or MR) cards. Basic lands technically have their own rarity (L), but are often marked as common.

Weiss Schwarz, and indeed collectible anime cards as a whole, represent a highly volatile market. Prices shift based heavily on the popularity of a character or their voice actor, and we can see the so-called "Waifu Effect" having a massive impact on the value of cards.

Today, the card game is still immensely popular in Japan and has a large following in the United States. Weiss Schwarz boasts over 10,000 total cards and dozens of sets to choose from.

Both players draw five cards from their Decks. The player who takes the first turn can perform a mulligan, followed by the other player. A mulligan is putting cards you do not need into your Waiting Room, and then drawing the same amount of cards from your Deck in return.

Unless otherwise specified by effects, the limit of the number of cards in a player's hand is seven (7) cards.

This is where cards that have been removed from the game are stacked face-up.

The color of the collector number printed on a card indicates its rarity, using a system similar to that of the online game: white for common, green for uncommon, blue for rare, purple for epic, and orange for legendary.
